  • Veterinary interns must have started with clinics


To ascertain the suitability of your qualification and background, please answer the following questions; it’s not necessary to provide a positive answer always:

  • How can you prove your high-interest in zoo / wild animals (prior internship,
  • literature study, publications, hobby, personal animal handling experience,
  • special knowledge in specific fields)?
  • Have you ever done any public presentation/s or publication/s?
  • Do you have experience in scientific research?  
  • Do you have experience in using computers and computer programs? If yes,which programs and software are you familiar?
  • Are you able and confident to work on your own with minimum supervision, if necessary?
  • What do you expect of an internship at AWWP?
  • What are your targets or goals in your professional life?


Working conditions:

  • Accommodation is free at Al Wabra Farm
  • Duration of internship should be 8 weeks
  • Flexible working hours
  • 6 days per week with a lot of sun and oriental flair
  • After training and familiarity with the system, you will have the possibility to do
  • different self-standing work in the different departments such as veterinary,
  • laboratory and animal management work.
  • All interns are most welcome and encouraged to work on a research topic!

LABORATORY ASSISTANT AND JUNIOR VETERINARIAN

Closing Date: OPEN

Job description for the position as a Laboratory Assistant and Junior Veterinarian:

  • 70% laboratory work 30% veterinary work
  • Assistance in laboratory organization, administration and maintenance.
  • Assistance in all laboratory work like blood work, microbiology and parasitology.
  • Assistance in autopsy of different wild animal species.
  • Assistance in the organization and execution of hospital and clinic maintenance
  • Assistance in all fields of zoo and wildlife veterinary work.
  • Recording of health programs and related data administration
  • Administration and management of medicine and consumption materials stock lists


Applicants for the position must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Veterinary degree and some basic experience.
  • Flexibility and good organization skills.
  • Experience in office administration, good computer know-how (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English
  • Experience in identification of different external and internal parasites.
  • Experience in identification and differentiation of blood cells.
  • Ability to work independently and within a motivated team.
  • Patient and sensitive to the animals needs, experience in animal handling and interest in wildlife

Working conditions:
Accommodation is free at the Preservation. Four weeks holiday with one paid ticket home per year. Flexible working hours, depending on the season. AWWP will offer a two year-contract with an initial probationary period of three months. Salary will be discussed after more application details are known.
